Power LED.

Regular LED called high brightness LED has about 20mA of electric current. Power LED which is used as the source of light in Highwire has about 1,000mA. This is about 50 times that of Normal LED. You can imagine how much brighter Power LED is as compared to Normal LED from this number. JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards) established that an illuminance of 300-700 lux is required to light the top surface of a desk. Highwire has achieved a brightness of more than 1,000 lux which exceeds this. The lux is the measurement unit of the human brightness perception or intensity of light. This is determined by the distance from the source of light to the working surface area. For example, A flashlight beam is centralized to the focus point where it the brightest, and peripheral area is pitch-black. Highwirefs emission of 1,000 lux will easily illuminate a working surface such as a desk from the source of light located 47 centimeters high. (number was derived from actual measuring device.)

* DO NOT look at the source of light directly as very strong straight light is emitted.

Highwire is equipped with a turn system on the case for angle adjustment even though the LED light source is not seen directly during regular use.

FOR COMPUTING.

20 years ago lighting needs were different because the way we worked was different. The Highwire desk lamp was created with today's use of computers in mind. Have you ever felt that it is difficult to look at a computer display under a desk lamp? This is caused by the difference in color temperature of both the monitor and the lights. The display has a high color temperature but the color temperature of an Incandescent or Halogen lamp is only about 3000K of warm color light.
The Color temperature of the Power LED used in Highwire is more than 5500K. It is highly compatible with a computer display therefore the color "white" is reflected as "white" in your eyes. On the other hand, with Incandescent or Halogen lamp you cannot see the original color that a computer screen outputs when only up to 3000K of red or yellow lights are shining on the display and the surroundings.

Please try Highwire while using your computer. We are sure that you will be surprised with how easy on your eyes it will be.

50,000 hours = How many days?

LED technology has unimaginable longevity. It is totally different from incandescent and the halogen lights which have a short lifetime. The LED light performance drops very slowly within a long period of time. As time goes by the decline becomes more gradual. This is the reason the life span of LED light is almost permanent. The Power LED used in Highwire will only decrease up to 30% after about 50,000 hours of use. This would mean that if you use the LED for 3 hours every day it would take about 16,666 days (or 45 years and 7 months) to get to that point. It is said that a person's eyes can finally recognize the difference in the amount of light (or brightness) being emitted once it becomes half. To recognize this difference between now and 45 years ago, you need marvelous eyes and a super human memory. As a result we believe it is basically unnecessary to replace the LED bulbs of Highwire in a lifetime. However, if you feel that the quantity of light output has decreased, please contact us. We will be glad to repair or replace it.

COOL&CLEAN

When you work under a desk lamp have you sometimes felt that it is too hot?

This is caused by light that emits infrared rays. These rays are invisible but are a high heat light that is similar to microwaves and sunlight that feels warm in winter because the paths of light emit infrared rays. Light coming from Highwire does not include infrared rays so you donft feel the heat and you canft set anything on fire by using a magnifying glass to reflect the light. In addition, when using incandescent and fluorescent lighting you are being exposed little by little to UV rays which are harmful to the human body, especially to your eyes. The light of Highwire is gentle to your body and eyes as it does not emit UV rays.
